I read quite a bit when I am not training, and very little of it is about soccer. Here are a few organizations and people whose work has stayed with me.
Football v Homophobia
I joined their podcast to discuss the 2023 USL season. They work directly with clubs and supporter groups throughout the year, doing the slower, more difficult work that lasts beyond a single awareness campaign.
Michael de la Maza
Michael is a professor, machine learning researcher, and one of the country’s top masters long jumpers. Academia and competitive track are not an obvious pairing, which is part of what makes his work interesting.
Carolina Baffigo
Carolina is an engineer who moved into sales and now writes about the distance between building a strong product and persuading people to buy it.
John Arrow
John is an Austin founder currently building an artificial intelligence company. He writes about technology with more restraint than most people in the field, which I appreciate.
